Afro-Haitian Dance weaves the beautiful tradition of different cultures into a form of structured movement and is a great cardio workout.
Weiselande "Yanui" Cesar has been dancing for over eighteen years. Ms. Cesar profoundly enjoys teaching, her other passion. She holds degrees in Theater, Exceptional Student Education and as a specialist in Educational Leadership from Barry University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Human Services at Walden University. Ms. Cesar is the founder of the not-for-profit organization, Tradisyon Lakou Lakay, which focuses on maintaining a positive image of the Haitian culture through art, music, dance and literature. Ms. Cesar has also served as the assistant director of dance for Sosyete Koukouy, and choreographed several pieces for school functions throughout Miami Dade County. She has collaborated on recordings, with artists such as Nil Lara, serving as background vocalist. Ms. W. "Yanui" Cesar holds a lifetime membership with the Cambridge Who's Who. She is currently teaching Afro-Haitian dance at PAN, Performing Artists Network on Saturdays and at Little Haiti Cultural Center on Fridays.

Nina Martin started her life in the theater world when she was five years old. She holds a Ph.D. in non-verbal theater from the Academy of Performing Arts (HAMU) in Prague, Czech Republic. She studied under the National Theater Association in Austria, as well as at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri (Switzerland) and Atelier de Belleville – mime corporel (France). She had the honor to meet and work with Maestro Marcel Marceau in several master classes.

André L. Gainey is an Educator in the Miami Dade County Public School System where he currently teaches at the Young Men's Preparatory Academy. He is in his 27th year in education. He is also an actor and director on the South Florida acting scene. In his 25 plus years on the stage and film André has worked in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Miami. He believes that theatre is a place to reflect on life and share life experiences with audiences, allowing them to learn and reflect on their lives and the lives of others. Over his career, André has appeared in principle roles at Miami Dade College as Pop in "Rainmaker", Boy Willie in "Piano Lesson" and Frankie in "Mighty Gents". He has performed in Orlando as Gabriel in "Fences", Boo in "Livin' Fat", Reuben Tate in "Zooman and the Sign", Malcolm X at the Zorah Neale Hurston Festival, in Miami as Kanaka in "Psycho Beach Party", Touchstone in "As You Like It", St. Peter in "Jury Duty", as Ephraim in "Moon on a Rainbow Shawl", as Will in "Flyin West", Purlie in "Purlie Victorious", Leland in "Blues for an Alabama Sky", Walter in "Raisin in the Sun" in "On the Porch with Danny Glover", as Jerome in "Fiction of Law", as Ole School in "Hustle", as the Pimp in "Hampton House", and in many other productions. André is the co-founder for AAPACT, African American Performing Arts Community Theatre. His favorite saying is "Live, Love and Laugh, I can't have it all to himself."

Belly Dancing with Effy
Come move your hips to the rhythm with Effy. This class is for individuals who are interested in a good core workout while feeling beautiful and learning Middle Eastern dance technique. This class will help you to be more creative and flexible while strengthening and toning your body. Come tell your story using your body as an instrument.
Effy Polizogopoulos is an internationally accomplished dance instructor, performer and choreographer. She started her career as a dancer from an early age, training in ballet. Later, she studied Contemporary Dance, Afro Peruvian dance, Argentine Tango and Middle Eastern dance. Effy believes in the expression of the soul through movement; this is reflected in the magic and beauty of her dance which is graceful, emotional and powerful. She has performed at events in South Florida, South America, The Caribbean, The Arabic Emirates and Eastern Europe.

Learn the foundation of Ballet technique that is the doorway to all forms of dance. With a basic knowledge of theory and practice, students will be able to continue in dance training in any area they choose. With a strong focus on placement and correct work, this class will provide a supportive and enjoyable environment for learning and development.
Brigette Cormier started dancing at the age of 7, training extensively in Tap and Jazz, and becoming an advanced student at a young age. She began her study of Classical Ballet at the age of 11. Brigette received her Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) Degree in Dance from the New World School of the Arts and University of Florida in Miami, FL in 2011. Her training while at the New World School of the Arts included Contemporary Ballet, Pointe, the Modern Dance techniques of Graham, Limon, and Horton, Composition, Anatomy and Kinesiology, in depth Music Studies, and Dance History. As a professional dancer, Brigette danced with choreographer Brigid Baker as a member of her company, Whole Project, from 2009-2012, with Peter London in his dance company, Peter London Global Dance Company, from 2012-2014, as well as freelancing with Miami based choreographers Pioneer Winter and Ivonne Batanero.
Yessenia Busto, born in Miami, FL, began to train in ballet at the age of three. Yessenia developed strong technical abilities, with a solid foundation for the rest of her dance career, at the Miami Conservatory Ballet. Her passion for dance led her to continue pursuing other forms of dance including Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary Dance and Modern Dance. She later began choreographing and performing for events at her college including "I Have A Dream: The Musical," directed by Herman LeVern Jones. Yessenia is currently attending Florida International University where she is an advocate for dance, collaborating with the university and it's dance professors. She is actively involved in the dance community where she has taken many workshops and master classes with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Mal Paso Dance Company, and many other renowned dancers and dance companies. In her training, Yessenia has worked with a wide range of mentors, choreographers and coaches, which have inspired her to share her knowledge and love of dance with others.

Juan Sobrino is a talented flamenco dancer and choreographer and an amazing instructor. This beautiful Spanish dance is full of expression and a great workout. The structure in the movement develops strength, tone and posture. Come and experience the deep feeling and great workout of Flamenco Dance. The Sevillanas and Rumba class gives students a good foundation for Flamenco choreography as they learn these popular dances that they can enjoy dancing at parties and Tablaos (Flamenco Clubs).
Juan Sobrino began dancing Flamenco at a very early age and has trained with many great Flamenco Artists, including Juan Ramirez, Carmen Lucena, Guillermina Castro, Maria Dangla, Manuela Carrasco and Carmela Greco. In the year 2000, he was contracted as director of the dancing group "Las Marismas" for the Casa Andaluza Juan Ramon Jimenez, recognized as one of the top Flamenco venues Andalucia. That same year, the ballet director, Don Jose Espadero, contracted him as first dancer. In 2003, he travelled to Madrid to the studio "Amor de Dios" and worked with such artist as "La Truco", "EI Guito" and "Cristobal Reyes", world-renowned Flamenco dancers. In 2005, he worked on "Sangre, Fuego, Lorca y Yo" with Concha Velasco y Gabino Diego. The play received great acclaim and toured for three years. In 2008 he created his own dance company, Juan Sobrino Flamenco Arts and performed in many venues in Spain. He has collaborated with Ilisa Rosal, director of Ballet Flamenco la Rosa, in La Señorita Julia and Ritmo y Pasion. He has performed with the Gypsy Kings at the Flamingo Theater in Miami; with Antonio Carmona, at the Hollywood Arts Park Theater and the City of Miami New Years Celebration at Bayside in 2012. In 2014 he adapted the verses of Federico Garcia Lorca and created the flamenco musical play "Sangre, Fuego, Lorca y Yo" (Blood, Fire, Lorca and I) that was presented at the Manuel Artime Theater on March 28, 2014. At this event, he received a City of Miami Proclamation presented by Mayor Tomas Regalado for his talent, achievements and disseminating Spanish culture.

In the Beg/Int. Flamenco Technique class, students will learn the foundation of Flamenco, including the core aspects of Zapateado (footwork), Braseo(arms), Castanuelas (castanets) and Technique for hand movements, as well as basic dance steps and rhythms. This class will help the student develop the elegant balance of motion and energy to express the passion that is the hallmark of Flamenco! Students will also learn Sevillanas, a regional dance from Sevilla, and Fandangos de Huelva, with steps and arm work that prepare the student for other Flamenco dances. The Beg/ Int Flamenco Choreography class explores different "palos" (rhythms) of Flamenco. Students learn the rhythms, "palmas" (hand clapping) and sections of dances that include Alegrias, Tangos, Bulerias, Solea, Tientos, Martinete and Seguiriyas.

Start your mornings off right! Join us for our stretch class every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10:00am-11:00am with Ilisa Rosal. You will have a chance to relax your muscles and mind before taking on the day, while building flexibility, strength, tone and posture. This class is for dancers and non-dancers alike.
Ilisa Rosal is an innovator in her art form, having created over one hundred pieces in the pure Flamenco style as well as cross-cultural collaborations and full-length dramatic Flamenco Ballets. She trained most of the working Flamenco dancers in Miami, many of whom have gone on to form their own performing groups. Under her guidance, Ballet Flamenco La Rosa has come to be respected as one of the finest companies in Florida, consistently performing to sell-out crowds, standing ovations and rave reviews. Ms. Rosal's training included extensive study in Spain with Ciro, El Guito, La Tati, Azorin, Manolete, Paco Fernandez, Mercedes and Albano, Jose Granero, and Paco Romero. In 1981 Miss Rosal studied in New York with Jose Molina (Flamenco & Classical Spanish), Mariano Parra (Escuela Bolera), Jeanne Brescianni (Isadora Duncan Technique), Rajika Puri (Bharat Natyam) and Charles Moore (African Dance). From 1975-1980 Miss Rosal studied Spanish Dance with Luisita Sevilla & Jose Molina. She trained intensively in Classical Ballet with Susan Stadler & Modern/Jazz (Luigi Technique) with Beatrice Laverne. She studied drama at the University of Miami and Classical Ballet in N.Y. with David Howard & Nanette Charisse.

Children's Piano group lessons with Ms. Malik use The Little Mozart Method, designed for young children, in which they learn through games, singing, reading key parts, playing basic Nursery Rhymes and Disney Songs.
Classes for adult and senior learners use the Hal Leonard method, which enhances reading chords and melody with a practice that includes the use of both hands to develop motor and processing skills.
Sofia Yanez Malik is a versatile Ecuadorian–American Soprano who sang as a child for the now Saint Pope John Paul II in 1983. She won the First Prize for the Lyric Television Competition on Sabado Gigante, an International program on the Univision TV Channel in 2002. She has performed as a Chorister for Florida Grand Opera, Riunity Opera, Sociedad Gratelli, Amicci dell Arte and other institutions, and also as a Soprano Soloist for MDC Opera Workshop and her own Gospel Ensemble.
Ms. Yanez holds degrees in Music Education, Voice, Piano, and Business and Marketing, and a Graduate Certificate in Pedagogy and Thinking Development from Ecuador, Chile, and the USA.
Currently Ms. Malik is pursuing an MBA where her goal is to work in Arts Administration. For the last two years, she has sung as a Cantor Soprano for The Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach, Florida where she has also conducted and developed a Children's Choir. She has been a Piano and Voice teacher at PAN since 2012, and her artistic career includes more than 30 years of combined experience as a performer, singer, player, talent agent and coach, as well as a Voice and Piano instructor for children, teens, and adults.
Guitar, Vocals and Music Writing with Jacob George

is an American singer songwriter, most well known as the guitarist and singer for rock band Powder Monkey. Jacob was born in Miami, Florida into a family of artists. From a young age, he began to focus on music as a means of understanding and expressing his experiences. While still in high school, he took on the role of bandleader for Voices United, a non-profit youth organization that promotes cross-cultural understanding through the performing and visual arts.
With Voices United, he traveled to Istanbul, Turkey and Lesotho, South Africa to perform original music. Jacob started several bands in Miami, and gained a large following, performing at local bars and music venues. After moving to Boston he formed a band, True Feathers, incorporating musicians he met while attending Berklee College of Music.
Jacob is currently working on his Bachelor's Degree in Song Writing in Boston at Berklee. His lifelong passion for knowledge and music leads him to create a body of work that is both transforming and unforgettable. He is also a gifted teacher, with a sensibility for helping students to find their own creative path, while developing their technique.

Whether a beginner or already playing, Malvina helps students achieve more than they ever expected, with her unique talent for teaching, and perceptive approach to individualized instruction. Students participate in two recitals each year, with those showing the most skill earning an evaluation from members of the University Of Miami Music Department.
Malvina Nedostupenko has been teaching Piano to children and adults of all levels at many schools and colleges for four decades. She is also a professional accompanist. Classically trained at Moscow State University and a member of the College of Musicians, she has been teaching in South Florida for more than 14 years. Several of her students have gone on to the prestigious New World School of the Arts and The Julliard School.

Paul Martin formally began studies in classical guitar with renowned teachers Jerry Willard, Timothy Walker, and Angel Romero at the age of 16. He studied further at Stonybook University in New York and at Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He has taught privately and for New York, Jamaican and Miami schools for the past twenty years. His solo and ensemble performances have taken him from New York to England, Mexico, Connecticut, Bermuda, and most recently to The Lincoln Theatre with New World Symphony Flautist Suzanna Self. Mr. Martin has created his own classical music group, The Meridian Ensemble, which has performed throughout South Florida to great acclaim.
